NDepend - Finally something to talk about!

Last week, Dave showed me Ndepend tool that was out there and making heads turn (Tool that judges your code on the basis of different coding patterns and practices and gives you a visual and metrix report on the project). I did download it once and quickly glanced over it. My first impression "Wow"! Though much of the data in the report didn't make sense at that time, I quickly realized how helpful it can be. I have been using FX Cop and Microsoft's guidline browser tools to judge my architecture and coding, and make necessary improvements on my and my team's coding style, but this tool raised the bar to different level. I finally downloaded it on my home machine and been going through the metrices. There's a learning curve associated with it; however once you know the in and outs the information makes a whole lot a sense.

This is must have tool for any .Net developer. Check out their website, download it and have fun http://www.ndepend.com/. Scott Henselman has the same opinion about it, check it out.
